Utilizing Zoom for Children’s Ministry

As we continue to navigate our new normal, many churches and Christian organizations are embracing the use of digital tools to make sure the work of sharing the gospel does not stop. Many parents are looking for channels where their children can be ministered to and discipled while at home.
This month our focus is on how to utilize Zoom, a digital communications platform that enables us to have virtual meetings and training. ZOOM is a cloud-based video conferencing service you can use to virtually meet with others — either by video or audio-only or both, all while conducting live chats through the computer, laptop or mobile phone- and allows you to record those sessions to view and share later. Zoom provides a platform that children’s ministry practitioners can use to conduct training, teach, and share the gospel of our Lord Jesus with people in the comfort of their homes. All you need is access to the internet, a phone or a computer, an email address and you’re ready to go!
Advanced Zoom features such as polls and breakout rooms allow you to:
- Create more meaningful virtual experiences
- Increase participant engagement
- Brainstorm on ideas in smaller teams and sub-groups
- Exchange ideas with all participants
- Make decisions critical to your children’s ministry through feedback from participants
